Sell your seminar or give it away? Do both!
Here's a message from one of my clients that I'm sure you can benefit from!
Question: I just read the transcript from Debbie Bermont on how to create information products and make money from them. "Turn Your Book into 10 Profitable Products"
I was wondering if the hour's worth of audio tape posted on my site is something I should not be giving away, but selling. Granted it is in the area of social services, so not as sought after as some other kinds of info.
She's really got me thinking.... Now I am afraid I am giving away the whole store!
What should I do?
Dan's answer: Two thoughts come to mind.
1. Is there a market for the recording?
2. Is there a benefit to you to give it away as a brand builder, or bonus item to selected prospects and current clients?
These two questions are NOT mutually exclusive. You can do both.
If there's a market for your recording, put a price tag on the product and make money.
In addition, you can offer the recording to your good prospects. I do this with one of my teleseminar e-books. It costs me nothing to produce, so why not give it away to really interested prospects? It creates good will.
I hope this helps. Keep asking me questions if you need more advice. This is good (anonymous) material for my blog!
