Lesson 14:
Create Your Presentation

By Daniel Janal
Founder, Great Teleseminars

Do you present new information or material you've used before?

Again, there is no right or wrong answer.

You can use material you've presented before. You are reaching a new audience, so the material will be new to them. They get value. You get income. It is a win-win situation!

This strategy lets you go to market fast because you already have the content and the handouts ready. All that’s left for you to do is the administration and sales. So it’s a very fast track to getting started.

You can present new material as well. On the other hand, you might want to try out some new content and that’s okay too. You just have to realize that it’s going to be a slower time to market because you must create the materials from scratch.

The benefit of this, of course, is that when you’re done you’ll have new material. I think this is a very compelling argument for a lot of speakers and trainers because it forces you to create new material. Everyone says, "I’m going to write another book," and they just don’t get around to it. Teleseminars are a painless way to start your new book. Imagine, you can create a book with 10-12 chapters by conducting a teleseminar every Thursday at 3 for 12 weeks!

There's a marvelous chemistry in place here. If you know 20-30 people are waiting to hear you speak this Thursday, you are going to do whatever it takes to create content that satisfies them!

By the end of that time period you will have enough transcripts and material to form the basis for your book! That’s pretty cool stuff. And you’ll be able to test material on your audience. You’ll be able to see where the holes are. Maybe you’ll think of some clever things to say, some witty jokes, some great stories. You’ll never know that until you start testing it like this. Creating new content is perfectly fine in a teleseminar format.

Action Steps:

1. Create the presentation.

  • Put it away for a few days.
  • Review the presentation.

2. Create handouts for the presentation, such as an outline or printed slides.

3. Post the handout to the web or e-mail the material to your clients. This process is explained on Day 19.
