Lesson 15:
Find Free Promotional Opportunities on the Web

By Daniel Janal
Founder, Great Teleseminars

You’ll also want to find places to promote your web site for free. These include:

  • Discussion groups
  • Newsletters
  • Web sites
  • Association newsletters or web sites
  • If you are interviewing a guest for the teleseminar, see if you can promote the event to your guest's mailing list.

Action Steps:

  • Look for external marketing opportunities.

You probably subscribe to a number of newsletters and discussion lists that reach your targeted audience. Ask the list moderator for permission to tell members about your teleseminars or teleclasses.

  • Use the Google search engine and type in keywords that would identify your audience. You'll see a list of websites. Visit those sites. See if you can find additional opportunities to promote your event.

Additional tip:

  • You might want to advertise in newsletters or rent email lists that have 100 percent verifiable opt-in email addresses so you won't be accused of spamming (sending unsolicited commercial messages, which is both a violation of the etiquette of the Internet, and an ineffective marketing strategy).
