Lesson 21:
Present Your Seminar!
By Daniel Janal
Founder, Great Teleseminars
There are four main action steps.
- Send the reminder notice you created.
- Test the phone line.
- Conduct the seminar!
- Send the follow-message for customer feedback and additional sales.
I would add one more bullet point to the above list, or mention it somewhere on Day 21. It’s a good idea to be in the office the entire day if, for example, if your teleseminar is in the afternoon. I get a glut of phone calls the day of the tele-seminar, usually from people signing up at the last minute, or asking me lots of questions that your autoresponder messages answer. If you’re not in the office and people have questions and they can’t reach you, you might miss out on registrations.
A. Send the reminder notice to your clients. They will forget. They will misplace the phone codes. This is when you distribute that reminder notice that you wrote a few days ago. You can send messages individually to each person if you have not set up autoresponders (See Day 12. If you send an autoresponder, use the Broadcast Message function in your shopping cart.)
B. Test the phone line. Call the phone line a few minutes before your seminar to test the sound. Have a colleague call into the conference so you can get feedback on the sound level. If you’re recording you want to test the recording capabilities as well. You want to test the muting to make sure that you know how to work the code.
C. Conduct the seminar. As people come to the teleseminar, greet them. Create excitement and a sense of belonging as people come in so they feel like they’re part of something. Nothing is worse than dead air. Just say anything! Ask people to introduce themselves briefly, or talk about the weather. Keep the voices flowing until it is time to start. Present the seminar. If your teleseminar is longer than 60 minutes, you may have to pay the cost of a longer audio cassette.
D. Send follow-up messages. This is an essential step. With this message you can increase customer loyalty, sell products or services and find what topics people want you to produce.
